Hi! Welcome to my website! My name is Dani Lin Hunter, and I'm a PhD candidate at Colorado State University in the Human Environment Interactions track of the Graduate Degree Program in Ecology. I currently study citizen science and developed an interest in public engagement in science when I took a year off after college to work retail. I had previously planned to be a stream ecologist but became more interested in connecting everyday people to science.

This led me to my advisor, Dr. Meena Balgopal, who leads a science education and communication lab at Colorado State University. She connected me with Dr. Greg Newman of CitSci.org, and together, they have helped me develop as an aspiring social scientist and citizen science researcher. I also have a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Lee University in Tennessee. In my spare time, I love going for walks with my family, playing DnD with my friends, working out at the gym, and cooking.
